CPTO (Freelance) @Breega
At Breega, we back world-class founders for the future. We are not simple investors - we’re entrepreneurs who’ve built, scaled, and learned what it really takes to grow.
Our forte is not just writing checks: it’s rolling up our sleeves - with our Scaling Squad, our portfolio companies get hands-on expertise in hiring, sales, marketing and strategy so they don’t just expand, they dominate.
We partner with outliers rewriting the rules of Digital, Climate, and Deep Tech from pre-Seed to later stage across Europe and Africa.
Since 2015, we’ve grown to €700M AUM, with main offices in London and Paris and deep roots in the most thriving tech hubs across both continents, as well as a portfolio of 110+ bold startups—Exotec, Alice & Bob, Moneybox, 011H, etc—each pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
Breega Values
Be caring and constructive: We act with empathy and always provide full and constructive feedback.
Play for the team: We make decisions as a team and stick to them as a team. We work cross-squads on a daily basis. We play hard.
Act like a founder: As founders we work hard and are bold. We understand the highs and lows of the journey. We are by your side at each step.
Win or Learn: We have a growth & performance mindset. We test, learn, iterate and improve. Always.
Invest today for impact tomorrow: We invest our time, effort, and focus to make Breega and every business we back impactful.
High Level mission:
As CPTO, you will be Breega’s first in-house AI builder. Your mission is to turn AI into tangible business impact for a leading European VC firm.
You will work hand in hand with the investment, finance, ops, and comms teams to identify where AI can create the most value, ship AI tools and agents that people actually use, and drive their adoption across the firm. You will set the data foundations (data lakehouse, RAG, integrations) pragmatically, leveraging managed tools and specialized experts whenever advanced engineering is required.
Responsibilities:
Business Impact & Roadmap
Immerse yourself in each team’s workflows (deal flow, investment memos, portfolio follow-up, LP reporting, finance, ops) to understand where time and value are lost
Identify and size high-ROI use cases, and prioritize the roadmap with Partners and stakeholders
Define success metrics (time saved, adoption, quality of decisions) and report on the business impact of each initiative
Agentic AI — Cross-team & Team-specific Agents
Design, prototype and ship cross-functional AI agents with clear business value (deal flow, portfolio monitoring, LP relations)
Build team-specific agents: investment, finance, ops, comms
Integrate agents into existing tools: Affinity, Google Workspace, Slack
Maintain, iterate, and improve agents based on user feedback and usage.
Data Foundations (Data Lake & RAG) — as enablers
Audit and centralize the firm’s key historical data (documents, financial data, CRM records, emails, meeting notes…)
Design and deploy a pragmatic data lake on Google Cloud / BigQuery, sized for priority use cases
Build or oversee ingestion, cleaning, and transformation pipelines (ETL/ELT), leveraging managed tools and external experts where relevant
Deploy a secure RAG architecture on internal documents and select the appropriate models
Ensure data confidentiality and access segmentation by team and by fund
Change Management & Adoption
Evangelize AI across the firm and turn early adopters into internal champions
Run onboarding and training sessions for each team
Document new agentic processes and support their adoption across teams
Specifically train the Head of Finance on deployed AI tools and workflows
Security, Governance and Documentation
Identify risks, control AI usage/connection related to risks
Write and maintain procedure manuals and runbooks for each agent and pipeline
Implement clear data governance (access control, versioning, audit trail, GDPR compliance)
Ensure ongoing maintenance and evolution of the full technical stack
Stack & Environment
Collaboration: Google Workspace (Drive, Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Meet)
CRM & Deal Flow: Affinity CRM
Data & Cloud: BigQuery, Google Cloud Platform
AI & LLM: Claude (Anthropic), Python, LangChain / LlamaIndex

Technical Skills
Hands-on with the AI/LLM ecosystem: RAG, embeddings, agent orchestration (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Claude API…), able to prototype on your own
Good working knowledge of data engineering: Python, BigQuery, SQL, ETL/ELT pipelines (advanced data / ML engineering can be supported by external experts)
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Workspace
